BET Awards Show - Ridiculous

There are many things one could ruminate upon regarding BET - not at all all good, mind you. However, Ji always gives props where props are properly due. And last night, the BET Awards which aired live from that big city on the west coast, deserved mad, much, many props. Excluding that chic that is always half nekked and writhing all over the place, the performances on the show were overall phenomenal.

Ji's age is certainly catching up with herself because, honestly, I did not know who half those kids were that were performing. Nonetheless, a few of them actually have some talent! The Coles girl and that Ne-yo? child, both good. But the crazy, collective, concentrated props go to the legit performers who we all know and love...Prince -ridiculous as always, the Busta performance -ridiculous, the Chaka tribute -ridiculous, Prince -ridiculous, Mary J. -ridiculous, oh and did I mention Prince? Well, he was ridiculous, as always.

My beloved Prince has been popping up all over the place, thank Goodness. I just want to know when he's starting the 3121 tour. Anyone?

Anyhoo, nice job BET, much appreciated. (Oh and I hope this is not really necessary but just in case, N.B. "ridiculous" is being used here as the utmost of compliments.)

Prince Surprises Brooklyn

Apparently, His Royal Purpleness surprised the crowd at the Maceo Parker concert in Prospect Park last night. That's in Brooklyn, for those of you who are not Brooklynites. I can not believe I missed it! Has Prince ever been in Brooklyn before???

And, of course, this morning he graced the Good Morning America Summer Concert stage in Bryant Park, with Sheila E. nonetheless. I made the conscious decision to forego the Bryant Park show. Oh, how I was filled with such regret as I sat in my living room watching him on the boob tube.

I have said it before, and I will say it again; Prince is the most gifted, living, musical legend. His music comes from another realm. And, dang, Sheila E. looked good! Yes? That suit she had on was oh so beautiful, as well. Glad to see she's still living the glamorous life. You go girl!
